Nesting Thermostat is not connecting

juanacache
Community Member

I have sent multiple emails and messages and I still don't have a resolve. Now your emails don't allow me to respond.

I can't connect my Nesting Thermostat to my network. It says my password is incorrect. It is not. Every other item/app that I require to connect is working just fine.

I have followed all the troubleshooting steps. You have even reached out to me to get me off this forum. Yet now the emails you sent to me won't allow me to respond. ???

I have only had my thermostat for a year. Why can I not get any help?

Interesting that I just received an email stating I no longer have any Nesting products...?? What happened to the customer service that was supposed to help me connect to my network?? I have emailed multiple times and posted on this site. What is the problem??

@juanacache

Have you tried contacting Support using these steps?

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

Hi folks!

Thanks for reaching out to the community. And also thank you for your willingness to help @MplsCustomer and @RosenFlorida. I am sorry that your Nest thermostat is not connecting to your network, but no need to worry; help is here. We appreciate all of your previous troubleshooting efforts. I need to know a few things about your thermostat in order to provide you with a better resolution.

  • What Nest thermostat model do you have? For your reference, you can check out this article on how to tell which Nest thermostat you have..
  • Does the thermostat display show any error codes or messages?
  • Are you trying to connect to the 2.4 GHz or the 5 GHz network?
  • Have there been any recent changes to your home Wi-Fi network?
  • Do you see a blinking LED light? If so, is it red or green?

I'll be waiting for your response; any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Best regards,

Jeremy.

I ended up shutting everything down, powering everything down or unplugging the router. Waited about 15 minutes and then Plugged the Router back first then all devices after that . Thermostat came back online as well as all other devices came back online.

the thing is for what ever reason it will go offline and it has done it  a couple of times over the past 6 months, along with this nest video Cam box we have in the kitchen it does the same thing. I am beginning to think it is a lot of the more devices the more interference.

Thank you

Hi @RosenFlorida!

Thank you for your reply. I am glad to hear that all your devices are back online. We appreciate all of your efforts to troubleshoot the device. There are different reasons why the devices will go offline. The only way to identify the issue is troubleshooting the device.

Feel free to keep us posted if you have more questions.

Regards,

Jeremy.

I never sent any message about getting back online?? I am still not connected.

I am a complete idiot. I was disconnected from my network a while back and tried to connect everything as I thought it was before. I didn't know that I had a different network for some of my devices. I needed to be connected to my IoT Wi-Fi as it is a different band (?) set up for different devices. My apologies and thank you so much for being attentive to me and my whining. ❤️

This might be an issues others might run into if they have Verizon internet.

Thank you again for all that you and your team have tried to do for me. I'm slow, but I got there. 😉
