New Nest thermostat not a substitute for E thermostat

Tomrandell

I installed four Nest E Thermostats last summer and have been very pleased with them, particularly as they have provided reassurance during Covid when away from the property during the cold New England winters. I recently tried to order two more and thought the new thermostat was  a straight upgrade on the E and didn’t realise I had to check compatibility with my two wire central heating system. I have now got to the property and find I can’t install the two new thermostats because this new one needs a c wire. I am not an electrician dnd don’t want to install new equipment to allow my system to work with these two new thermostats. Can I trade them in for two E thermostats and pay the difference? (Also it seems a pain to have to transfer from the Nest app to the Google home app?)
