New Phone Old Phone Thermostat

I got a new iPhone and installed the nest app. I am trying to add a product (my thermostat)  to the app but it is asking for an entry key. I went to settings on the thermostat and I cannot find entry key. Note: I had this installed on previous iPhone and working.  Do I need to reset thermostat in the settings menu to get a new key?  TIA for any help.

You shouldn't need to do anything other than login to the app using the same account you setup the thermostat with. If you can't work that out, you'll need to reset it and set it up again using the steps below.

  1. On the thermostat, press it to open the quick view menu and tap the Settings cog.
  2. Turn the ring to Factory Reset and select Account connection.
    • If you don't see this option, you'll need to select All Settings.
  3. On the Nest app home screen, tap the Settings cog.
  4. Tap Add product. The app will switch to a camera view to scan the thermostat’s QR code.
  5. On the thermostat, press it to open the quick view menu and tap the Settings cog.
  6. Turn the ring to select Nest app and press to open it.
  7. Select QR code. Your thermostat will show you a unique QR code to scan with the app. If it doesn't, tap
  8. Continue without scanning in the app and select Get entry key on your thermostat instead.
  9. Follow the remaining steps in the Nest app.
