New Thermostat, Old House

Getting an N253 error (White Wire). The thermostat has power but for some reason it will not recognize the white wire,  I have 4 wire thermostat wire. Red - power. Seems to be working fine as the thermostat is on-line, set etc. Blue - common. White - heat. Green - unused.

This is for baseboard electric heat. There is no cooling or fan so it is a pretty simple set up.

If I manually touch the white and blue wires together at the thermostat location, the heat comes on. When it is all installed, I get the error. I've triple checked that the white wire is properly seated into the backplate. This is on initial setup.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Please post a picture of the original thermostat wiring here if you have one.

The Nest Thermostat E can only be purchased from a Nest Pro. Can you verify which thermostat you have?

They must be standard Google Next thermostats then. They do not have the movable dial. They are touch sentitive on the right side so they are controlled will swiping and tapping. Looks like they're T3007es models
