What is the trick to plugging the three prong connector on the battery

If your AC wiring to your thermostat has an extra wire (I can't remember what it was called) you can wire that into the nest along with the existing wires. I think it's just one or two additional wires, but it has to also be connected on the other end at your Unit as well, to work.

Or maybe were you referring to actually plugging it into a wall socket?

The nest learning thermostat does not have a battery that you would normally have access to. It can’t be charged if you take the display off the back plate and turn it over and plug it into a a charger using a USB micro cord.

When you say three plug, what are you specific talking about? Can you post a picture please?
