New boiler installed

Hi, we got a new boiler installed yesterday and Nest seems working but the receiver only communicates with boiler if I override it to manual. All connections are the same and should have no issues but still can’t control it through the thermostat or the app. I did reset it to factory settings but still same issue

Are you hard wired to the Heat Link or wireless or both?

Do you have any lights on the H/L if so what are they.

When you factory reset, did the set pair correctly?

Your boiler will work manually as the connections, [if correct] go direct from the H/L to the boiler. The communication is done from Display to H/L normally..

I tried all that and if I override it it works in manual. The only thing is that doesn’t work as usual from thermostat. All wires are connected properly also

Tried all what, I did not ask for you to try anything!

All pairings were successful, sorry just getting frustrated with this. I reset both thermostat and H/L, paired them, retested all and still doesn’t work. Only works manually through the H/L but it was working fine before

Yes these thermostats are VERY frustrating, haven't you noticed my title???

Anyway unless you answer the questions it will get even worse.

Thanks a sorry again.

1. It’s both, H/L it’s hard wired, and thermostat connects to it wireless

2. One green light. Even if I turn thermostat up

OK, that's fine, I'm not here to battle just to help! This is a community forum run by the big I am Google, and on the odd occasion the Mods chip in their 2 penny worth, but sadly not when your in your hour of need!

OK, When I asked about wiring it's the connection from display to H/L, wired is best, but wireless is fine. Both wired and wireless even better. The H/L to boiler will obviously be wired if you get my drift. The green light is good as that means it paired to your display, and you should get 3 greens when running manual. Just one green light is the norm as that as mentioned confirms paired, even when calling for heat or not.

One question I forgot, Combi or System?

When you turn the display to call for heat do you hear a click at the H/L? [Just using the display not manual.]

The boiler is system, and no sound on H/L when using the display

OK, that now sounds an issue with the relay.

I assume, as you have a system your connections will be something like terminals, 2&3 for Heat, and 5&6 for water?

Can you upload a picture of the Heat Link connections under the cover where the terminals are?

Do you have access to a neon screwdriver of 240v tester?

No I don’t I’m afraid

I’m out at the moment. Can’t send any pictures now. The engineer that made the installation said that connections weren’t changed as it uses the same as previous boiler

They may not be changed, BUT are they connected in the terminals correctly?? You should hear a click when calling for heat.

Another test is, go to Boost water, and can you hear a click then?

We are not talking about a boiler connection at present we are talking about a H/L connection!!

Sorry for keeping you waiting for a reply, at work at the moment. I’ll do that tests as soon as I’m home and will update. Thanks again for your help

👍no worries

Just an update on this. Landlady order an engineer to come and look out what’s wrong. I’m trying to be at home and see what he says/does and I’ll update it here when he gets here. Maybe could help others on future issues
