I suppose I should start a new thread on this.
I have a gen 2 nest thermostat. It has been in operation for 3+ years. I am really quite happy with it. Until now....
We are having work done on our house and the electricity has been shutoff to allow work. Now the nest thermostat will not see any WiFi signal, regardless of source, not the router for the house, not a verizon jet pack, not even my phone. I have verified all of the WiFi routers are working.
I have done a factory reset of the nest thermostat. I have done a power off/power on reset of the routers. no change.
I suspect the thermostat may have turned off the WiFi chip to preserve the battery power when the electricity was turned off. But I can't get it back on.
Is there a way to recharge the battery on the nest thermostat to get it back to running?
Do I need a physical repair to the unit? or is this thing just shot?
Thank you,
a.

Hey Fixeshousestuff,
Sorry to hear about your Nest thermostat as well as the delayed response. I also appreciate that you've taken the time to try those steps already. I want to dig more into it.
A few questions — this is the 2nd generation Nest Learning Thermostat, right? Are you getting a specific code or message on it's display or on your Nest app when trying to have it connected to any WiFi network? If yes, what is it?

Hey there,
Thanks for getting back to me and for this added detail.
M15 means your thermostat was not successfully added to your account. When you're at the location of the device, please try the suggestions below:
