Please help-complaint escalation

Please can someone help. I have a faulty nest thermostat and I paid for an electrician to set it up and he advised it was faulty and I went to Argos to purchase another one which works. I’m stuck with a thermostat that doesn’t work and the advisor said for th to help they must troubleshoot it which means paying for an electrician to cone back to try and hook it up to confirm it doesn’t work. I’m so frustrated about the service. Please help. Reference number is 0-7427000031521
