Google Home keeps telling me I’m using the app on another phone so will disconnect the phone I’m actually using. I have no other phone. I can switch settings to this phone but it does not save the setting. When I leave my house it doesn’t switch to Away automatically since it thinks I’m using another phone.

Have you checked your home address under settings?

I did. It’s very frustrating.

Try a factory reset instead, have you tried this?
11-26-2022 05:35 PM
I have not tried a factory reset but I can certainly do that.

Yeah, try doing this. Then try testing if it recognizes that you're home or away.

Thank you for helping out on this thread, eveluna!
Hey there Bjdowell1,
I'm just checking up on this thread, do you have any more questions or need any additional help?
Best regards,

No. I feel like it’s the Nest app itself and not the thermostat. The app wants to use an old phone to connect. No matter how many times I switch it to this phone. It reverts back.

Hi Bjdowell1,
For confirmation, are you using the Nest app or the Google Home app for the presence sensing feature? Have you tried the steps provided above by our fellow community members?
Keep us posted.
Best,
Dan

If I use Smart Things, presence sensing works. I think I tried Google Home and it didn’t work. So I do have a work around. I guess that’s fine since the Nest app won’t work.

Hey there,
I'm glad the "presence sensing" worked using the Smart Things. It would help a lot if you could check out the links below for more information and additional details about those features:
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Dan

I can’t get the app to recognize my phone correctly but I do have a work around so I don’t need any additional help. Thanks!
