Reinstall Nest app on android

My computer system completely crashed and I had to un install Nest app on Android phone.  Now it will not let me re install app because it thinks I am trying to install a new Nest thermostat and wants a code that would be displayed on the installed old wall Nest thermostat .  

Suggestions on how to get t back on my phone?

Are you signed into the Nest app using the same account you setup the thermostat with? If you do that the thermostat should already be there in your app?

Yes, I am signed in.

If you're positive that's the case, on the thermostat go to Settings > Reset > Account connection. If you don't see that option, select All Settings instead. 

Once ready, add it to the Nest app again:

I have tried that on the Thermostat but unfortunately it always thinks that I am trying to install a new thermostat and want a code which the app won't except.

I have a technician coming to the house on Monday so fingers crossed.
