VRF system use a proprietary control system that is not a conventional HVAC control system.  The key is the old thermostat. Does it have 5 wires, R, Y, G, W, C or just 2 or three, D+, D-, G or 1,2,3.

Achint,

The VRF system use a proprietary control system utilizing digital communications between the Thermostat and the outdoor unit.  This communication is based on an RS-485 serial interface. This system is not compatible with the Nest or any conventional thermostat that uses 24Volt AC control system.

Hi there,

I'm sorry for the delay. I hope you get the answer you're looking for provided by CoolingWizard. For additional, some proprietary systems can be rewired by a pro installer to be compatible.

I appreciate your help, @CoolingWizard and Jake.

Thanks,

Jenelyn
