Second Nest Thermostat - DOES NOT ADD TO SAME HOME - 1 Conclusion - INTENTIONALLY PROGRAMMED

  1. I would NOT normally POST to this Forum, EXCEPT I CAN'T get that 5 HOURS of my life back.
  2. As stated in my Subject line, THERE IS NO WAY to Add my 2nd Thermostat to the Same Home
  3. However, it ADDS to a 2nd Home in seconds.
  4. I tried every possible combination of:
    1. changing WiFi
    2. Using my Phone as a HotSpot
    3. disconnecting/charging/rebooting router, TRY ME to see if I did not try something?!?

*MORAL OF THE STORY:  GOOGLE intentionally programmed it this way, I have no idea why?  Probably to get people to BUY NEW PRODUCTS!

**THIS HAS HAD THE OPPOSITE affect on me, I will be working towards getting rid of all Google Nest stuff.

Hi tomcrook1234,

Thank you for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

Also, thank you for doing the troubleshooting. I know it is not easy to spend multiple hours trying to add a device to the app. Could you try renaming your Nest Thermostat and then move it to a different room/home?

Let me know how it goes by replying to this thread.

Best regards,

Ryan
