I am moving to a house in with a Nest thermostat. I do not know the specific model. It seems that the previous owners did a factory reset, and my understanding is that setup will require the app. However, internet cannot be installed before the first major freeze, and we want to get the heat on before then. Can it be set up just using internet/hotspot from a cell phone? And once it is set up, will it continue to operate without internet (and be able to be adjusted manually)? (Our situation is a little tricky because we are still living out of state until January.) Also, if I have a relative set it up with the app on their phone, is this going to create problems when I want to switch to using the app on my phone?
