There is a problem connecting to the nest services.Try again in a few minutes

Both the Nest apps on my Android phone and tablet are coming up with the above message. It was fine earlier on today. The thermostat is saying it's connected to the router, so what has changed so I can't access it?

I am also having this issue. I've had this issue before (see this link) and while it was fixed for a while, it is now acting up again.

Same issue here on both iPhone and iPad. Rebooted each of them and the Wi-Fi, with no luck. Turned off Nest, still no luck.

installed yesterday with common wire and was working great yesterday and last night.

I've been seeing the same issue. Our home network/WiFi is working fine but the Nest Learning Thermostat -- 3rd Generation -- randomly goes "offline" frustrating efforts to control via iPhone or iPad. It also operates strangely when Home/Away is enabled or even disabled. This has been going on for at least a couple of weeks. Went through all the reset/restart/reconnect suggestions but no joy. What's going on and how can this be fixed before I must replace my beloved Nest with something else?

Hi everyone,

Thanks for posting and for your patience. Sorry for the delay.

I wanted to follow up and see if you are still in need of any help. Please let me know if you are still having any concerns or questions from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Thanks,
Mel

This issue remains unresolved, even after replacing our 2016 Nest Learning Thermostat with a brand-new model purchased directly from Google. Besides sometimes being found "offline" the thermostat does not respond promptly to app control -- if the app is used to change the temperature setting, response may take several minutes instead of only a couple of seconds. It seems as though there is a breakdown between the app, the Google server (if that is in the chain), and the thermostat. This loss of functionality may have begun around the time we switched from cable internet to fiber, though no changes were made to our in-home router or network. I've reviewed router settings repeatedly and yes, old thermostat was removed from my account, router restarted and IP V.4/IP V.6 dual-stack is running. Still at a loss as to what has gone wrong and how to correct this.

Hi JamesGui,

Thanks for reaching out, I saw your post and wanted to chime — I'm sorry for the delay.

I just want to know if you're still encountering the issue? Please let me know as I'll be willing to help.

Best,

Jenelyn

Issue continues. Sporadic offline notices, slow response from thermostat when attempting to control via app.
