My nest app is showing offline while the actual nest devices is showing connected.
I’m sick of this.

I think MAYBE I had an episode of exactly the same problem with my brand new Nest Thermostat:
After running fine from install for almost a month, suddenly my App showed the Nest "Offline." I was away from home so couldn't verify, but my router's App showed the Nest "Online" when I queried my network remotely.
When I got back, the Nest lit up and then seemingly went dead! Thought it was dead batteries (I have no "C" wire), but removing/replacing the original batteries re-booted the Nest and EVERYTHING WAS FINE! Batteries checked out "good" with 3.18 volts.
The circumstances and evidence from the ambient temp and set temp (it had started to cool down from my "away" temp as soon as I arrived and before I rebooted it) makes me think that the PROBLEM IS WITH THE APP, rather than the Nest......maybe??

Hey folks,
Thanks for posting ― let's get this sorted out.
A few questions: What Nest thermostat model do you have? Does the thermostat display show any error codes or messages? Also, are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the thermostat?
Best,
Mel

It's just a "Nest Thermostat" (the basic model of the 3 sold now). Because the situation corrected itself so quickly when I power cycled it by removing/replacing the batteries, I have to confess I did not carefully examine all the details before the situation corrected itself. BUT, given the ambient temperatures inside and out, I suspect the Nest was operating correctly all along, just not connecting with the App. And yet the App for my router, which allows me to see my network remotely, showed the Nest "online" while the Google Home App showed it "offline." Just now there is a new post in the thermostat section where a user seems to be describing the same thing......Nest online but App shows it "offline." I'm not SURE that's what happened to me and the only way to tell will be to observe more carefully IF it happens again. BTW, since the house was vacant when the Google Home App started showing the Nest "Offline", nothing was in use except the internet router. No telephones were in the house and the only RF generating device that was operating as far as I can see was the router.

Hey Willyjp,
Awesome — glad to hear that your issue is fixed. It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread shortly unless I can help out with anything else.
Best,
