Thermostat - issue

Gar38
Community Member

Experts,

I have four zones and installed a google learning thermostat on all of them successfully about 1 years ago.  All successfully being controlled from the NEST app.  One of them stopped working without any notable cause.  I noticed the problem because the thermostat was "offline" on the nest app.  After multi resets, and even back to factory settings I have not been able to get it to connect to wifi and therefore the app.  I've tried reinstalling after the reset and still no luck.  I moved the one offline to one of the other zones with the results the same, will not connect nor operate after a few second being connected to the base.  I even typed into it the wifi name and still it will not connect.  Followed all suggested repairs on this site - no results.  Please Help or send me a new one it appears this one is broken.

Hi Gar38,

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Let me take a look at this for you.

A few questions: Do you see any message or code on your Nest Learning Thermostat's Settings > Network? How far away is the thermostat from the router? Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the thermostat? Also, are you trying to connect to the 2.4 GHz or the 5 GHz network?

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Zoe
