Thermostat stuck in “Starting Soon”

Hello,

I’m seeing a similar issue described by the user in this thread
My thermostat is stuck in a “Starting soon” state. The fan will kick on if I put on a fan hold timer but if I disable the fan hold timer it goes back to this “Starting soon” state.

I’m having the exact same issue. It started yesterday.

Our condenser was not starting so I ended up calling the HVAC company. I learned that most thermostats have a timer before it’ll turn on the AC to allow any residual energy (I.e. fans still spinning one direction) to be released.

If you see this message in app, there’s probably a countdown timer on the face of the nest. I ended up having to replace a Contacter for my AC but that was unrelated to this “Starting Soon” message on the app.

Ah that’s a good tip. Thanks!

Did the issue resolve itself after you got the replacement?

 Hello folks,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum. I'd be happy to take a look at this.

It appears to be a power-related concern, which is why it loops back to the "Starting soon" message. A few questions: is this a first-time installation? If so, when did you install it? Does it show in the heating mode as well? Also, please check the power readings in the actual thermostat's Equipment settings and gather the Power and Wiring Info.

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,
Mark

Hi folks,

Just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, I would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let me know.

Thanks,

Jenelyn

My issue ended up being a bad connector between furnace and outside condenser unit. Thanks!
