UK - can’t connect new thermostat to heatlink

Hi,

My Nest thermostat stopped working completely (display completely dead) so I bought a 2nd hand one on eBay.

I haven’t been able to connect it to my heatlink, however.

I have tried holding down the button on the heatlink until I get the pulsing blue light and I have tried “replace heatlink” in the nest settings (and putting in the code from the bottom of the heatlink”) but it just fails. If have tried putting the thermostat next to the heatlink but it does not work either.

Is there a way to completely reset the thermostat? It appears to be set up as “family room” by the previous owner. I have tried holding down the display but this only restarts it and doesn’t reset it.

Any suggestions?

thanks in advance.

How did you exactly reset the Heat Link. The way YOU did it exactly?

The thermostat, is it wireless or wired or both to the Heat link?

You can reset the display by going to settings reset and full reset

Thank you.

I reset the Heat Link by holding down the button for 20 seconds.

It is now pulsing blue.

The thermostat is wirelessly connected to the Heat Link. I can't reset it using the setting because it isn't set up.

Thanks.

OK, that's the first problem you have not reset the Heat Link correctly. Press and hold the Heat Link button for at least 35/40 seconds do NOT let the button go even if it pulses before the 35/40 seconds. You can keep the button pressed longer, just make sure it pulses blue after the 35/40 seconds then release.

Do that TWICE. Then try and pair.

ONLY do they way I have stated otherwise you will put the display into confused mode.

I have covered this topic so many times on this forum, have a search and you will find all the answers to pair your H/L
