My Nest thermostat is showing Strong connection to Wi-Fi, but when I select Nest Server in its settings it says "Connected. Cannot control thermostat from app."
The thermostat shows as online from the app and the app seems to be able to show the current temperature readings and set temperature from the Nest, but any attempt to change the temperature via the app does not register on the thermostat itself.
I've done 45 min of troubleshooting with Google support - removed device from app, factory reset, readded, restarted both devices, checked battery status - and still not working.

@Jdot1 , when you say you choose “Nest Server” I am unsure what you ste talking about. On the Nest Learning Thermostat you have two items in Settings to check. One is Nest App and the other is Network. The Nest App widget confirms the Nest Learning Thermostat is connected to a Nest App Account. And the Network widget shows you what Wifi network the Nest Learning Thermostat is connected to.
Since, as you state, you can open the Nest App, select your Nest Learning Thermostat, you should check other features I sing then the Nest App and select Settings. Do you see the settings page like the one below?
AC Cooling Wizard

This is the Nest Thermostat, not learning one, and it only works with the Google Home from what I'm aware.
On the thermostat itself, you can go to Settings > Network > Nest server, and it shows "Connected. Cannot control thermostat from app".

Have you tried all of the steps in the Can't connect Nest thermostat to the app help article?
Have you verified that your phone and Nest thermostat are using the same Wifi?
Did it work before and doesn't now or is this a new install?
