Moved into a house that has a Nest thermostat installed. What kind is it? Learning, E etc.? I seem to need to know when trying to get it to work. Fortunately, I can re-install the previous "dumb" thermostat since it wasn't discarded which seems the easiest solution.

I found the web page that describes and pictures the models of thermostats. It is off-line but cooling can be adjusted by swiping up and down on the side. I think I'll skip trying to set up a smart phone app and maybe re-install the dumb thermostat when it comes time to use the heating furnace.

Thanks for the help, @CoolingWizard.
@J_Norbert, you can check which Nest Thermostat you have through this link: Nest thermostat technical specifications. Also, you can reconnect your Nest thermostat to Wi-Fi by following this link.
Keep us posted.

Jim, it is very easy to to switch this Nest thermostat over to you. You will need to go into the menu and perform a reset. Then start the install process. It is currently wired so all should be good.
