Will Nest work with electrostatic air cleaner?

I have electric air filter in the air handler that I would like to utilize but since installing my neat it has lost power and I have had to purchase disposable paper (not eco-friendly) filter. Old thermostat had jumper wires but nest said not to use. Any ideas?

I'm sorry for the late response, but I wanted to hop in here to help. I understand the concerns about wanting to use more sustainable air filters and I'm happy to look into this for you. 

I was able to find an article about air filters that are compatible with the Nest Thermostat system.
