I have 7 wires total, R, O/B, Y, G, C Y2 and Aux... where do I land the second Y if Y2 is already installed?

Hey brianztrapp,
Thanks for reaching out.
Could you share a clear photo of your current thermostat wires showing the terminal labels? Also, what system do you have and what type of Nest thermostat are you trying to install?

Appreciated. I think the two wires were wired up, but not physically connected to anything on the unit (the Y2 wire when connected to Y on Nest, didn't provide any cooling). The thermostat is working fine. I suspect the same for the AUX/E wire that was connected on my old thermostat. I have the newest Nest unit (mirror finish and only 6 connection points)

Hi brianztrapp,
Thanks for the response. The Y2 wire is for second stage cooling. Based on your available wires, it looks like you have a heat pump. You can put your AUX to the W terminal and just make sure that you program it as Aux heat during setup.
Thanks,
Edward
