bNest thermostat locked and offline

Hi,

My network provider changed and I forgot the pin so can't set new network details on my thermostat. When connecting the thermostat to my laptop via usb, my laptop does not recognize the device.

What can I do? I would appreciate a quick response so that I can have the heating back :).

Thanks

Magdalena

@magdalenalw ,

the easiest way to fix this is to go to your router and change the SSID and password that you had on your router system and then everything will work again for you to login with your app and everything like that.

I have done this for many customers over the past years.  Like I said, go into your router settings, Change the SSID back to the old system SSID and change to password to the old password and save it.  After that your Nest Thermostat will connect to your WiFi and your Nest App will to. Then just ise the app to remove the PIN or tap unlock.

Thanks for the response. I tried many different pins and eventually was able to login and enter the new network setting. I really do think there should be an easier way to reset the device.
