The fan stopped working after a power outage. Fan is not running at all. The A/C unit is less than 6 years old.

Hello Juan,

Let us do some checking.

1. When you turn in the AC in cooling mode, does the blower fan come on?

2. When you put the system in Heating Mode does the blower fan come on?

3. when you put it in Cooling mode and go outside, is the outdoor unit running?

Sometimes. Power outage and the inrush of power when restored by the power company causes a low voltage the fan capacitor can get damaged.  Please report back your findings.

Hello,

Below the answer to your questions:

1) NO. The blower makes a click or sound that is being turn on but it does not blow any air.
2) No. Same thing it will start to smell of the heat of the resistance but no air blowing.
3) I can't check it is in the roof top and I do not have access at this time.

This sounds like the capacitor on the blower has failed.  You will need and HVAC technician to come check it out.

Hi Edward,

The board of the motor burned out in the last blackout. I needed to replace the motor.  Thank you for your collaboration. Case closed - Damaged fan motor.
