wi-fi connection?

Installed new Google Nest thermostat; 5 wires (including C wire) connected easily.  initially, system started via Google Home app, just as advertised.  Since then, thermostat asleep most of day.  When manually started, shows no wi-fi connection.  Router satellite is only 10 feet away, shows it's aware of thermostat.  Oddly, 3 or 4 times a day, everything works for about 5 minutes: thermostat, phone app and cooling function properly for that brief period.  Then, thermostat again indicates lack of wi-fi connection.  My air-conditioning service claims insufficient expertise.  Should I call a Google specialist?

Hi @tbc - sounds like you’re taking all the right steps. My initial thought was the c wire but it looks like you got that set up properly. Otherwise it would tell you it needs a power adapter. Usually the loss of wifi means that the c wire or power adapter is needed - but if you’re not getting that error warning then it must be something else. My next guess is to check the batteries and replace them. Maybe they are old or the connection there is weak?

Best of luck and keep us posted.

@tbc, how's it going with your Nest Thermostat? Still need our help?

Thanks,

Thanks to respondents for their interest.  Despite the presumed compatibility (Google site) of Nest and my HVAC, I bought a Nest power connection.  Pro will look at my system nest week.  Air conditioning still runs, 3 or 4 times/day, for about 5 minutes, and then shuts down with a "no power" message.

Thanks.  Turns out that my Nest thermostat was installed and functioning correctly.  Second A/C tech found an intermittent switching device in my air handler.  Happy with the Nest! Again, thanks for your time.
