Cannot connect second nest wifi point to nest wifi router

NotoriousQV

Good day,

I am unable to connect my second nest wifi point to the nest wifi router. I see the point in the google home app, but it is listed under "other cast devices". I cannot click on it and even after resetting I can't modify any settings.

Has anyone encountered the same issue? How did you fix it?

Thanks,

Yes, I am having the exact same problem with a brand new Nest Wifi Router and Point pack. I'm probably going to return it.

Just sent back my google mesh and purchased the ASUS AX mini system. Set up perfectly the 1st time and works amazing.  Can’t wait around for answers that don’t appear to be coming anytime soon.

Just connect the additional Google wifi point to the network or main point via ethernet (the port with <...> symbols). Worked for me.

thanks, but its much more than that. have one already in the main port, want 3 mesh points, will only take/allow 2. google keeps selling and marketing as if you can use 5 or 6 or unlimited depending on how much space that needs coverage- and its not true-does not work. appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I had the same issue, I assume there is an issue with the protocols with the second one.

My fix was: hard wire the second nest pro from the first one and run the setup. This should fix any handshake issues that you have. I also went through all the updates needed. One done I move the second nest pro to the bedroom and test the mesh connection. Everything work great now with 700 down from a 1gb connection

Thanks for checking in!  Do you have a status on the main issue here?  That three points doesn't work and you promote that it does? Thanks!

It doesn't work. That's the status. Terrible

I used to have this issue for very long time, I have tried all of the options exposed here and nothing worked. One day I raised a Internet access issue to my ISP and the support guy asked central to recycle my house IP so they assigned a new one. After that, all the issues were gone by act of magic. I'm not sure if that was a simple coincidence or there is some kind of relation between, but now I am able to connect the wifi repeater, nest cam 2nd Gen, Google home screen and other devices which was causing some issues ( I had working nest cam 1st gen, and other devices before the IP refresh).

Hoping this could be helpful some some of you guys.

Good luck!

Thanks! It's not about adding different items. This is focused on the issue that only 2 mesh work at a time. Cannot add a 3rd, 4th etc. Have a long angled property and wireless does not reach to 1/3rd of the house. Also Goigle does not explain it anywhere that only 2 work and I wasted my money. Too late to return the extra Mesh
