Hi, (To Whom It May Concern),
Either the first-gen Google Wifi or the next-gen Nest wifi, there should be a way to kick someone off the list of connected devices on my wifi. Especially if that user was not authorized to begin with or I only want to give that person temporary use. Next time when that person connects, it should send me a notification that this device is trying to connect to my wifi. Then I should be able to allow or deny as if I deem fit.
This is very important. Hope this comes in as a firmware update feature. Thanks!

Hi Kumar007,
Thanks for posting to the community. As you know, there's no way to edit the device list, but I can see why you would want to be able to do so. I can pass your wishes along to our internal teams that you would like to see that feature made available on the Google and Nest WiFi settings. Aside from passing along your feedback, is there anything else I can help with?
Thanks,
Jeff

Hey Kumar007,
When you switch modems, generally there isn't any settings update you need to do unless your modem needs to be put into bridge mode to function with the mesh network. In most cases, just swapping out the modem works fine. Sometimes after setup, the mesh system does some learning and dialing in, and you might have seen some of that in effect after the modem change. I'm happy to hear things are working now. If you want a fresh setup after a modem swap, you can always factory reset the devices and run initial setup again, using the setup guide here: https://goo.gle/39avrz9.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for closing the loop on my feedback.
On a different note, recently, the modem that brings internet to my home changed. After that, for some unknown reason, all of my pucks were dropping off the mesh one after the other. I did do complete power recycles multiple times, and also dropped and re-added the pucks to my Home wifi. But that did not fix it. It was basically after a lot of time, the mesh is finally steady, not sure how.
I was wondering if what I did was correct or if there was something I was supposed to do when we change a modem. If you can provide me with the steps that I am supposed to follow, or if there is a knowledge article around such random drops of the pucks from the mesh, kindly guide me. Appreciate it.
Thanks,
Kumar007

Thanks so much, Jeff.
Appreciate all the prompt feedback and great support. I did have to do factory reset twice on all those pucks that dropped out of mesh. And finally for some unknown reason, like you suggested, the learning and settling in process took over and it seems streamline now. Thanks again!

No problem, Kumar007. Hopefully everything stays stable and reliable going forward. Definitely let us know if anything else comes up!

I just wanted to check in real fast and see if things are still running well for you. Have you seen any issues on your network?
Thanks,

Hey Kumar007.
If everything is still working well, let's go ahead and mark this one as resolved. Before I do, let me know if things are still looking good on your end.
Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks Jeff! Let's mark it resolved for now! However, if my feature suggestion can be fed back to your product backlog, that will be awesome!

Sure thing, Kumar007. I'll make sure that feedback is passed along. If you need anything else, definitely feel free to open up a new thread!
Thanks,
Jeff
