Error: QR not a valid format

I'm trying to add another wifi point to my Google router, but to add a device I'm being promoted to scan the QR code, then receiving an error of "QR not a valid format". There's no option to "continue manually". I'm stuck!

Get a bright light the setup code is hard to see.  It is engraved on the bottom of the outer rim of the nest. I was only able to read it with a  bright flashlight than I still had a problem seeing it.   At first, I thought nothing was written on the bottom. The code blends into the background.

Hi, Hdubsq.
I just wanted to jump in real fast to see if you saw Arniem44's reply and to see if you still needed some help on this or if you were able to get it sorted out. If you are still needing some help, just let us know and we'll be happy to continue helping.
Thanks.

Hi Jeff, thanks for following up. I was able to sort it out, I think I needed to update my Google Home app because eventually the "+" icon was available and I was able to scan the QR code. When I tried to add the device through my wifi options, there was no option to enter the code manually and the QR code was giving me the error, but once I could add the device through the Google Home app, it was fine.

Ah, that's great news, Hdubsq.

Thanks for coming back and letting me know you got this all worked out. As we have our resolution here, I'll go ahead and close up the thread. If you need anything else going forward, please feel free to start up a new discussion.

Thanks.
