Ethernet cable not "accepted?

Hi, i try to set up my google nest router - if i plug in my Ethernet cable it says "An Ethernet cable does not seem to be plugged into the WAN port properly. Please check it and try again" . i reconnected my old modem with the same cable and it works fine! nothing wrong. what  could that be?

Thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with setting up your Google Nest WiFi. I'd love to know more about this, and I have a few questions:

  • What is the light status of the Google Nest WiFi router?
  • Is this the first time you're trying to set it up?
  • Have you tried doing a factory reset on the Google Nest router?
