Google Wifi DuckDNS Setuo

Laros272

I want to set up Google Wifi to work with a DNS service like DuckDNS. Can the Google Wifi router transmit the current IP address assigned by the ISP to the DNS service so that the address resolution is up to date? If it is possible, what are the configuration steps to set this up? Thanks.

Are you talking about DDNS, dynamic DNS? Nest Wifi does not support that.

I don't work for Google.

You can change what DNS servers Nest Wifi should use, if that's what you are thinking about?

That's about all you can do with Nest Wifi and DNS.

Thanks for your reply. How does a dynamic IP address assigned by an ISP get updated on a DNS server where one presumably has an account with a domain name selected?

Hey folks,

Thanks for lending a hand, @olavrb.
@Laros272, I wanted to follow up and see if you are still in need of any help. Please let me know if you are still having any concerns or questions from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Thanks,
Abi

Thank you all who responded. I set up a cron job on my PC to update the address information to the service since there is no built in support on the router for this.

Hi Laros272,

Awesome — glad to hear that your issue is resolved. It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread shortly unless I can help out with anything else.

Best,
Abi
