Pretty simple set up of original google home network, been working for years until recently
Office-Wifi connected to ISP modem, Model AC1304, software version 14151.43.81
FamilyRoom-Wifi mesh connection, Model AC1304, software version 14151.43.81
Both the devices were purchased from google in a 3 pack.
First issue, a few months ago, I don’t know the exact date but may have coincided with the forced switch to Google Home App; FamilyRoom-Wifi point starts going offline, at least it says so in the “home” app, and stays offline until re-boot/power-cycle. Note the Google Home App notification says the FamilyRoom-Wifi point is offline but the lights on the device don’t indicate a problem. What’s up with that?
Second issue, 2 Roku devices within 4 feet of FamilyRoom-Wifi point, the Home app shows device 1 excellent connection 2.4ghz, but shows a weak connection 5ghz for device 2. Device 1 is a relatively new Roku stick (2.4ghz) device 2 (5ghz) is a TCL Roku TV. Note, device 2 shows it has an "Excellent" connection while the Home app shows weak. What’s up with that?

You are correct @rrrccc57
after force closing the Google home app it reappeared. Like others I’m leaving this alone for now. My internet is working fine and I have better things to do with my life :). Hopefully Google can reproduce this and fix this on a future version. Thanks again!

Same issue as everyone else here. My one point is fine while the router states “offline”. Unable to add points after the initial setup.
Factory reset network, unpaired, repaired, toggled everything and everyone…nothing. Must be the biggest glitch in the history of Gooledom.
We can create an Iron Dome for the Israelies, but this somehow baffles IT workers. Hopefully resolved soon.

It did not work for me

Hi, all.
I've seen some people asking about firmware rollbacks. That's not something we can offer as firmware updates also address security vulnerabilities and keep the network secure from attackers. As of now, we haven't seen anything to point to the update as being the issue, but we're looking into things and any new information that comes out I will share here.
Thanks.

Hey, Bad_Muz.
Out of curiosity, do you have a specific need to have IPv6 enabled, or is it more of a preference? I know the IPv6 issues are being investigated, but I don't know of a time frame for an update to address the issue yet at this time. If you don't have a need for IPv6, it would be best to leave it disabled for the time being.
Thanks.

Hey, Jeff.
Not really… I was using IPv6 on my Home Assistant and some other smart home things, but I at this time I can perfectly stick with IPv4…
Hopefully the issue will get resolved in near future.

Hi Jeff
before the problem occurrd I could see which network points were wired and connected - they showed light blue
with them offline this functionality is lost
small deal but frustrating
thanks

Hi Jeff,
The issue is present with or without ipv6 enabled…
06-03-2022 12:03 PM
Hey, Bad_Muz.
I know the IPv6 issue is being looked at and a fix will be rolled out on that at some point, but I don't have any news on timing there.
Thanks.

Hi Jeff
Do you have any updates for us all on a roll out for a fix?
Could you possibly find out when something may be released?
Thanks

Same here since yesterday.
Any solution found ?
09-09-2022 05:02 PM
This is the exact issue I’m having. Factory resets of router and three mesh points did not help.
05-06-2022 06:34 PM
I'm having the same issue. First it was I've nest point showing offline in the Home app which eventually came right after a week, now it is the other point's turn.
Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why..

Same issue here in Auckland NZ. 3 of my 6 Google Pucks are showing offline when they are clearly still working. The mesh test shows them offline but I can select them in the Google Home app and change the brightness of the puck light, the wifi is still fine. All the pucks are hard wired. I tried a factory reset on one of the offline pucks, no change, indicating it’s a Google Home app issue.

No changes to network and now everything is back online and functional. Interesting our ISP modem Pace 5268AC stopped showing firewall dropped packets that were happening continuously since this issue began...
05-10-2022 06:02 PM
I did a factory reset yesterday on one of the supposedly offline wifi points and added it back into the mesh. No immediate change noted, but today it’s showing online again. I guess I will have to factory reset the remaining 2 still showing as offline but working fine. Fixing what ain’t broke?
05-10-2022 08:10 PM
2 of my points are showing offline, not sure when it started.
My wifi speed test is way below what it should be and when I call Cox cable, they want to charge me to come out and say my mesh is old and should be replaced...
I reboot them, both came back online but go back offline shortly after
Sure could use some help here

I'm having the same issue, my nest wifi was rock solid for the last few years and now at least once a week I get an error that one or more points are offline even though I don't notice any sort of interruption for connected devices. Unplugging the point seems to reset it until it reports offline again a few days later.

We're now MONTHS into this issue and still no resolution? Google could have landed on Mars by now if they chose to!
06-23-2022 09:35 AM
What we've got here is failure to communicate.
06-29-2022 01:56 PM
Hey, everyone.
I know it's been a while since I have been able to chime in on this, but I simply just don't have any new info to share. I have yet to hear of any updates involving IPv6 or the offline point issue. I am hoping to get information soon, but like you all, I'm still waiting to hear more on this. I will share when I have more info to work with.
Thanks,
- Jeff

any update here Jeff, that IPv6 trick isnt working for me
10-24-2022 04:47 AM
Hi so I haven’t been able to toggle the ipv6 can clear instructions be provided please? I have an iphone 11 pro max and I keep it up to date. I don’t see the option to click a Wifi button within the Home app. It’s really annoying lol that both my minis and my nest work when commanded by voice but cannot be controlled in app. After reset they immediately show offline in this awful Home app. 😣
10-24-2022 06:29 AM
Hi - the issue is still not fixed. Toggling the IPV6 off and on only fixes it momentarily. We’re still waiting for a real fix from google as far as I know. Jeffrey

I wouldn’t bother. The toggle of ipv6 does not resolve the problem. The routers/points appear online in the app for a few minutes, then show as offline again (but they are always online and working).

Hi, Frank285.
The setting isn't device specific. You should be able to find it in the Home app regardless of the device you're using. It's found under the advanced networking setting within the WiFi settings. Are you seeing the WiFi icon in the Home app? If that's missing, we might have a different issue going on.
Thanks,
- Jeff
07-12-2022 10:21 AM
Hi again, Frank.
I'm just checking once more to see if you had that info and to see if you were still experiencing the issue.
Thanks,
- Jeff
07-14-2022 09:57 AM
Hey, karrieannek.
I'm sorry for the frustration you're seeing on this. To clarify, your network isn't actually going offline, right? You are seeing the same issue where it's staying online, but you're just seeing it as offline? I want to be sure that we're not chasing a slightly different issue here.
Thanks,
- Jeff

Hi Jeff. New responder chiming in. I just started having the “offline” issue yesterday with my Google Wi-Fi points. They are working but showing as offline. Tried the IPv6 thing and had no affect. Thanks
08-11-2022 06:42 AM
I just started having the same issue.
12-14-2022 04:48 AM
I have the same problem with Google home app. It says things are offline but they aren't. I signed out/in, unplugged/plugged in and. Nothing changes. I think google home has a big.
12-14-2022 09:39 AM
Google has sent a fix for this issue recently last month. We all had this problem you are reporting since May 2022. I don’t have this issue but put a call in to Google for a live technician to call you to run a few test and perhaps a fix.
08-07-2022 11:40 PM
Nope that is the issue at hand. Shows offline in the app when everything is actually online and functioning correctly.
07-01-2022 11:06 AM
Google Wifi support supervisor claimed the latest firmware rev resolves this months-long disaster. But it hasn't. FYI all...
All three Points are running firmware version 14150.43.81 which you claimed above has resolved the problem, but it does not. Shame on you Google for this months-long unresolved bug. Please send me the release notes for 14150.43.81 indicating what has changed or been fixed and advise how to proceed to get my Google Wifi platform working again.
08-05-2022 05:59 AM
Thanks for your post.
my 4 mesh configuration constantly has different connection issues. Sometimes all are good, then some weak and then some not connected.
really a pain.

Same for me; 4 Google Wifi units in total (1 router / 3 points)
All 4 units are shown OFFLINE in the rooms on the app (Google Home)
All 4 units FW version: 14150.43.81
I have tried the ipv6 trick (turn it ON & back OFF) but doesn’t help.
Can Google Support team explain where do they stand and what is the solution if any?!
07-11-2022 10:57 AM
Also noted that android device shows the device online, but iOS device still shows offline after enabling ipv6 and then disabling it.
07-14-2022 10:06 AM
This has gotten to the point of ridiculous, months with no real solution!? Not even close
Hello Google/Alphabet/McFly...
You can bet when I buy my next mesh routers they won't be a Google/Alphabet product

Is their any news in the fix for this yet? I see that previous comments state it may have been patched in previous firmware releases? Can this be confirmed?

I use the Google Home app from my iPhone. I use it regularly to turn on a smart light bulb a couple times a week for the past several months. Today, the Smart Light bulb did not turn on and I noticed each of my Google wifi points were showing Offline. No updates to the network that I know of. Ran the "Test mesh" and it shows successful across all wifi points. Network is working fine. However, the Google Home app still shows each of the wifi points as Offline. Even after Enabling/Disabling IPv6.
08-05-2022 07:32 PM
Google WiFi points still showing offline in Google Home app. Internet connectivity is good. Mesh tests are good. IPv6 makes no difference. Just the Google Home app is the issue. Sure would be nice to have Google apps fixed by Google since we are using Google products……..just saying.
