You shouldn't need to reconnect the points. Resetting the password has nothing to do with connecting the points.
I'm assuming you're talking about changing the password people use to access your network and have internet connection, correct? I've changed my pw several times in the past and have NEVER had to reconnect points.
That said, if your points are not connected to your router, your would need to reconnect them using the Home App. In the top Left corner tap on the + symbol and follow the instructions/set up device/New Device/Your Home (whatever you named it)/Next/then the app would search for your point. If it cannot find your point, you would probably need to completely reset your point. On the bottom of your Nest Point there is a button you can hold for about 10 seconds (or more) I believe and that would Factory Reset your point. Then you could reconnect it using the steps above. Repeat the process for the other point.
If they are Gen 1 Google Wi-Fi points the reset button is bigger and is located on the back or side of the device. The process to reconnect is the same.
