Something went wrong Nest wifi point setup

Hello, I hope I categorized this properly.

I have a google mesh wifi system that has been working great (got 2 months ago). However, it was attached to my google workspace account (actually used for personal use so I can have a custom email), but I got tired of the limitations with the assistant.

I created a new gmail account and factory reset the wifi and points from the app (as it said it would remove the associated account as well). When setting it up with the new gmail account, it makes it through to the end and then says, "Something went wrong". They do appear to be connected and working, though I cannot link an account to them. It says "link account" under the points on my google home app, but clicking them just refreshes the page.

Also, if I select Wifi > Wifi devices > and select a point, it says it has been factory reset, and to click to remove from the app.

I have tried:

     - factory resets

     - unplug and plug back in (also while holding the factory reset button)

     - clear cache and storage of home app, uninstall and reinstall

     - remove from workspace account

I'm desperate, please help 😞

I finally got this fixed with someone from google. Even though I had unplugged my main modem once before, and the main router for nest was getting internet, I didn't have an IP address. This is how it was solved:

- Keep router setup and connected to the modem

- Reset points and wait for them to tell you they are ready for setup (leave them alone for now)

- Unplug your modem for a full 10 seconds and plug it back in

- Once all the proper Modem lights are on and it's good to go, try setting up the points again

I hope this works for others as well.

I'm having this exact issue. When I click "Link Account" or try to access the device settings by clicking the icon, the page just refreshes. I've done multiple factory resets and assigned the Nest Wifi Point to different rooms with no change. Getting the same issue across different mobile devices (pixel 4 and pixel 6)

This worked! Thanks for taking the time to write out what worked for you. Much appreciated. I wouldn't have thought it was an issue with the main wifi router. Best!

Just came to say that this worked for me as well. Thanks for posting!
