There is no WiFi icon on the home app. There is mention of a fix on threads through a series but than the mention there is no detail. I am assuming everything needs a factory reset but I am hoping there is something quicker and less tedious and time consuming

I have the same problem 😞 I bought a 3 pack nest-mini 2nd gen. speakers but I don't have a dhcp server in my network and for security reasons I can't and don't want one either. So I need to assign a static ip address to the nest-mini-speaker. In the meantime, I installed the Google-home app on 4 devices (2 phones and 2 tablets) but the WiFi icon does not appear anywhere. I have never experienced a manufacturer that does not allow manual (static) configuration of a device. It was a black Friday deal so i can't return them and that is more than a pity... Hopefully google fixes this soon!!!

Thanks for your update. I finally gave up and did a factory test and started over in order for the icon to return. This is about the 6th time I had to start from scratch. It seems to not like power outages or???
