Add guest lock codes in G Home?

I have just installed a Yale X nest lock and the accompanying nest connect device. (Hsu! That only took three hours.). As you may know, I had to use the original Nest app to add the device. That cannot be done in the Google Home app. Sad!

Now I would like to add guest codes.

It is pretty straightforward to add guess codes in the Nest app.  But apparently you cannot add guest codes in Google Home?But apparently you cannot add guest codes in Google Home?

This is terribly frustrating because I have a combination of nest cameras (which are visible in both the Google and the Nest app), thermostats (which are visible only in the Google app), and the lock (which is visible in both apps, but can only be manipulated using Nest).

Am I crazy? It seems impossible that you cannot create guest codes in the Google Home app. Is this a known bug? Is there a plan to fix this? Will this be fixed with the “matter“ update?

I appreciate your efforts and the steps you’ve tried here. Adding guest code or home entry only is done in the Nest app and not available in the Google Home app. Have a look at this article and let us know if you need more help: Learn about Family Accounts and how to share access to your Nest home.

I do not need more help.  I did not need help to begin with -- I explained that I am doing everything you said.  It works.... but the process sucks.  I was simply hoping to register my frustration and suggest a feature that should be added to G Home.  Having to use BOTH apps to do simple things is stupid.    Today I had to Add a User in G Home, then the user had to install both G Home and NEST in order to program the lock.  Dumb squared.
