Adding a guest code to Nest Lock using Google Home

I just found out that I am being forced to move from the Nest App to the Google Home app for my Nest Lock but for some reason, I can't add a guest to just the lock on my home for a temporary period.  It is forcing to add an email which I do not want to do and in addition, adding anyone to the home adds them to full control of all devices on my google nest network which I also do not want to do.  I just want to be able to create temporary guest codes like I did on the Nest app.  Can anyone help?  This doesn't seem like a reasonable expecation to do in the app.
