Different lock codes for different Yale locks - Nest

atlas

We were wondering how to set different codes for different locks around the house. For example, we have a Yale lock at the front gate, I would like to give a code for gardeners, exterminators, etc. So they can get into the backyard but not also have access into the front door. Please help?

@atlas

You can have more than 1 lock installed in your Home, but you need to add the member first and then they will be assigned a code. In the case where you want this spare code, you can provide that to your gardener if needs be. Find out more information here

Thanks for the info. We know how to assign a spare code. But we want a code that will only work with one lock at the front gate, and not every lock in the house.

Has an option been found to allow separate codes for each lock not one code for all lock access?

Hey folks,

Sorry for the delay in response. No, you are not able to create a code for a certain lock. You can edit their access to have full access or not, but they will have access to your home if they have Full Access. To create a new passcode for someone, you’ll need to add them to your Nest home. Then the Nest app will automatically generate a passcode for them. Each passcode is linked to a specific person, whether you’ve invited them to share Full access or given them Home Entry Only.

People with Home Entry Only access will only be given a passcode. See the article below to add somebody to your home and generate a passcode.

Learn about Family Accounts and how to share access to your home. Please look through this link here for more information.

Best Regards,

Brad.

What if we make a separate nest account? Surely we can have different codes for different locks if we use different accounts.. right?

Hi there,

I would not make an extra account, but what you are asking for is not an option. Just checking in to see if you still need assistance with this issue.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.
