Door lock won't fully retract 100%

My Nest Yale lock bolt suddenly won't retract 100% all the time.  It happens with the door physically open too so it's not catching on the door frame. I'll enter my code with the door locked and then the deadbolt will retract but about 1/8th inch is still sticking out of the door, preventing the door from opening.

I've had to lock the door again, and then try again. This time the door lock might be sticking out slightly smaller than 1/8th or so, so I'm able to open the door.

This seemed to happen randomly one day, but now since it started it's been happening almost every time I open the door now.

To provide you with the best assistance, please answer the following questions: 

• During setup, was there any inconvenience with the alignment of the parts of the lock?
• Is there any yellow light on the Lockt?
• When did you install the Nest x Yale Lock?
• When did the inconvenience start?

Since every time you open the door and turn the thumbturn, there is resistance and the motion is not smooth, please try the following:

• Try loosening or tightening the interior lock, the back plate, and the bolt assembly until you feel that the retraction is smooth and the bolt no longer gets stuck. To access the lock's interior, remove the batteries from both sides and unscrew the lock.
• Inspect the alignment of the lock parts to identify any potential misalignments from the installation process.
• Check the alignment and installation of the strike plate. Ensure the hole where the deadbolt rests when the door is closed and locked has the correct depth.
