Google assistant says Yale lock is unlocked when it is locked

When I tell Google Assistant to lock the door, it locks it then says the door has been unlocked, it does the same with routines. I have removed the device and set it up again and it still does it. I have had this lock for a few years and it has worked fine. I made changes to my wifi network and had to set up my nest products again.

Hey everyone,

We're aware of reported issues with Assistant voice responses when locking Nest x Yale locks using Assistant via voice command or routines. This issue should now be fixed and Assistant should now respond as expected. Please let us know if you need any additional help.

Best,

Nikki

Additional info: The Google Home app and the Nest app both show the lock in the correct position. They show locked when locked and unlocked when unlocked. only the assistant has it wrong.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this, I would love to look into this further for you. If you haven't already, you can learn here how to factory reset your Yale lock, which may help to reset issues it may be having. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best regards,

Brad

I did a factory reset on the lock twice and it was still doing the same thing. Last night when I told it to lock the door it locked it and said "the door has been locked". It just started working. I haven't tried fixing it since Saturday.

Mine recently started doing this too. At the same time, they also no longer respond as what they are. I have to refer to my front door as entryway now, and my backdoor as kitchen. It no longer responds to what door they are, just to to where they are. My routines at night say that the entry way is unlocked, and the kitchen is unlocked, even though I can see that it locks them. I'm not sure what kind of update was done in the last week, but they need to roll it back. If I ask it to lock the front door, I get a message that she doesn't see that vehicle linked to my google account. So, not only do all my google assistants(I have 5 scattered through the house) say the opposite of what they are doing, they are no longer useful to oral commands(Lock the entryway is not not intuitive). If I use my phone, it highlights and underlines the word "front", as if he has no idea what that word means anymore.

I have been having this exact same issue with my locks! Saying "X door has been unlocked" when it locks through the routine. Very unsettling when you are going to bed. I haven't had the issue with the names though, GA still refers to them by the name instead of location. Knock on wood. It has also been starting to have issues with routines and certain names. Not just one specifically but it may run an action that the routine wasn't set up for that has been working for years or sometimes I get the response "it looks like that device hasn't been set up yet." Also, the one that has been annoying me the most is the GA has been defaulting back to the original assistant voice. I have changed it back several times. I haven't fiddled with anything at all and things have been working for the past few years. These issues have just started coming up in the past 3-4 weeks. I hope there is a fix soon because I have a ton of devices, routines, hubs, etc. that I have spent countless hours on to get to work exactly how I want them. I don't have time to go through everything to see what works and what doesn't anymore. 😫

Same exact thing is happening to mine. We’ve been using for over a year without issues prior to this a few weeks ago.
