Installed a new nest lock and the nest connect. The nest connect is working but I get not the lock

New lock installed. Nest connect working but lock will not pair. I get the something went wrong message

Please return the lock as soon as possible. Please read this. Google has discontinued the support  https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9251009?hl=en

Hi 6464,

 

Thanks for reaching out to our Community. I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues with the Nest x Yale Lock. Let’s check it out.

 

A few questions: are you using an iOS or Android device? If you press the white indicator button at the back of the lock, does it pulse blue?

 

Let’s try the steps below:

 

  1. To remove the lock from your account, on the Nest app home screen, select your lock, tap Settings, and select Remove lock.
  2. Factory reset the Nest × Yale Lock.
  3. Make sure the phone is on the same Wi-Fi network as the selected network for the Nest device.
  4. Bluetooth should be enabled, but it should not be connected to any Bluetooth devices. Disconnect any Bluetooth devices paired to your phone, such as earbuds, smartwatches, etc.
  5. Cellular data should be turned off.
  6. If you have an iOS device, tap Settings > Privacy > Local Network and turn on Local Network Access for the Nest app.
  7. Add the lock back to the Nest app.

@Rahuld83, thanks for chiming in. Support for the Nest x Yale Lock is not "discontinued." Support stops for Nest Secure on April 8, 2024. After this date, you'll no longer be able to use Nest Guard as a bridge to connect your Nest x Yale Lock to Wi-Fi. Only a Nest Connect will be able to connect your lock to Wi-Fi.

If I am away and it's not tied to the security system, IMO your missing a very big feature.
