A couple of weeks ago, my Nest Guard went off line with a yellow warning message that it was on cellular backup. I ignored it thinking it was a momentary glitch, but it never recovered. Using the app to try and set the wifi failed each time. Factory resetting failed and now its a brick and I have no security system any more. I've tried unplugging it for days to drain the battery and trying again, still NF004 failures. I tried again after the recent outage notification was cleaned up, but till failures.
A previous post I wrote on was locked with no notification. I'm happy to provide hardware if that helps with debugging.

This is also happening to me. I did a factory reset and walked through troubleshooting steps with support to no avail. The support team had to escalate and will get back to me over email, they say. But it seems to me the machine's wifi antenna is completely broken - it doesn't pick up a single wifi network when searching despite my being in an urban area. I'm concerned that my home is without any security solution until this can be fixed. Please help expedite a replacement unit.

Yes, I still need help. I have no functioning alarm system.

As for anyone else,
If you are still having this issue and showing this error, please go through this Troubleshooting Guide first, try all the steps, and then if you are still having the issue let me know.

NF004 error isn't covered by your trouble shooting; but I've done nearly all of the requested steps. I'll try tweaking some wifi router settings; but its a google wifi puck.

It sounds like the wifi chip could be having issues with your Nest Guard. Because they are discontinued, I cannot guarantee you a replacement but you can request one.
Best regards,
Brad.

My setup is out of warranty, so I tore it apart and didn't see anything specifically wrong. Threw it away and ordered a replacement on ebay.

Same here. Not sure why suddenly mine went offline and now having trouble finding a Wi-Fi network with so many access point(mesh's) in the house. The Nest-Guard is right next to one. What's going on?

I am glad to hear that you have an open case with Support! I will let them continue to work through that then. I am glad that you tried several Troubleshooting steps!
