Nest Detect Goes offline, then no response no matter how I press the button

I paired a couple of nest detects to guard. In the nest day, one of them went offline. I pressed the button, no light glowed no matter how I pressed it. I thought the battery is dead so I changed a new Panasonic cr123a battery. It then seemed going through the start up sequence. One plus of blue, one pulse of yellow, then off for a few seconds. Then one pulse of blue again followed by a longer pulse of yellow, then the light gone. I tried to press the button again for 10 and 15 seconds, no response. Then I took out the battery and reinstalled, same sequence of lights happened as described above, followed by no response by pressing the button for regardless of how long I pressed the button.
Then I tried another way, hoping it would work. Took out battery and reinstalled, when it went through the sequence of lights, I tried to press and hold the button, no response. It just ignored me and continued to go through the sequence of lights then hit the dead end.

I checked the app, it is still offline. I removed the detect from my app and tried to add it back. Same issue occurred. It just deadly went through the same sequence of lights then went no response.

so I want to ask is it hardware issue? I successfully added it to app and connected to nest guard but out of the blue it went offline and could never rejuvenate it again.

Anyone please help. I have 8 nest detects, only this one has issue.

Hi Felixthecat264,

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. What is the distance between the Nest detect and Nest Guard? Even if your Nest Detect is in range of your Nest Guard, something may be interfering with the connection. Draw an imaginary straight line between your Nest Detect and Nest Guard. Any time the line between your Nest Detect and Nest Guard is blocked by something, it might cause interference. Thick walls, furniture, appliances, and other electronics can reduce the range your Nest Detect can connect to your Nest Guard.

Try to install your Nest Detect closer to your Nest Guard.

Check out this link for more information.

Juni

No use. I basically did the Nest Detect setup right next to Nest Guard and still having the same issue that I described above.

So what is the fix?
