Nest x Yale Lock - Perimeter locking

We purchased a new Yale Lock to work with our Google Home. How to set the lock to unlock as we get close to it and lock automatically after leaving?

My mother-in-law has the same lock but a generation older, and when they get within 2km of the house it automatically unlocks. Is this an additional feature or device required, as the auto lock that is offered on the Nest App is only a timed function (which serves little purpose)?

I'm not sure what model of lock your mother-in-law has but it can't be the Nest x Yale Lock, as it does not have a feature to unlock as you get close to it. However, you can set it to auto-lock after a certain time period or only when no one's home, in the settings in the Nest app. See the "How to enable or disable Auto-Lock" section below.
