Nest x Yale Lock using Nest Guard as Bridge

potatoboi

I chose to use the Nest Guard as a bridge for my Nest x Yale lock to connect to the internet opposed to purchasing Nest Connect. Now that Nest Secure is being sunsetted, once I transition to the ADT system, will I need to purchase a Nest Connect? I've seen that Nest Hub Max users who rely on it for connecting the Nest x Yale lock are getting a free connect – will nest secure users relying on Nest Guard for the Nest x Yale lock to connect to the internet get the same treatment?

Hi potatoboi,

Yep — absolutely! Your lock will function the same if you’re going to change your Wi-Fi bridge to Nest Connect. On the other hand, the support and functionality in the Nest app for Nest Secure will be discontinued on April 8, 2024. To learn more about Nest Secure’s update and exclusive offer for a Self Setup System from ADT, take a look at this link

Thanks,

JT

I'm sure the lock will function the same if I change to Connect, but will I need to purchase a Connect myself if I want to transition to ADT?

Hey there,

You have an option to transition to ADT for your home security. The Nest Connect is solely for your lock’s use, to add it to your Nest app.

I hope that answers your question.

Thanks,

JT
