If I don't have a Nest Connect, can I still add passwords for friends and family to my Nest-Yale lock?

Hi ccoon4444,

Thanks for posting. I understand that you want to use your Nest-Yale Lock and add a password, even if you don't have a Nest Connect. I'll be more than happy to share more details about this with you.
Currently, the Nest x Yale Lock only connects to the user's Wi-Fi network via a bridge, so it cannot establish a connection to the internet unless a bridge device is within range (50 feet, direct line of sight). This range could be shorter if there are walls or other potential sources of interference; for this reason, you should use a Nest Connect as a bridge to enable the lock to receive connectivity and work as expected.
I hope this information helps.

Best regards,
Jenny
