Questiom about the sunset of secure

If we have the secure also acting as a google assistant speaker, will that portion still function after the sunset date? Or will google assistant speaker functions on the secure also stop?

No I'm afraid. On April 8, 2024, Nest will no longer support Nest Secure. It will not be accessible in the Nest app and will no longer connect to the internet (meaning no assistant functions). You will not be able to use the Nest app to check the status of your Nest Secure, control your Nest Secure devices, or receive notifications from your alarm system.

These product practices should be illegal. I am sick and tired of shameless companies turning good functioning products into landfill waste. Shameful.

It's technically illegal in California and is illegal in the EU.... Now, if people actually contact their government and the government actually does anything about it is another story.

they should at the bare least unlock the ROM on the devices so tinkerers can repurpose the device themselves for other uses
