Yale Lock -- use WITHOUT app/wifi

Hi - I purchased a Next x Yale Lock for use at a vacation rental house that has very poor internet/wifi.

I have a number of questions!

1. Will the lock still operate fine without being connected to the internet? Eg if I just program it with a few codes, will those codes keep working?

2. How do I delete passcodes without using the app? I understand that I can program passcodes into the lock itself manually, after I have created a master PIN/passcode. But how can I delete passcodes manually?

3. Can I change my master code/PIN? My maintenance team installed the lock for me, and I live in another city. So, they know the master code. I would like to be the only person who knows the master code. How do I change it? (Related, I read that if I create a master PIN/passcode, and then connect the lock to the app, the master code will no longer work. What about if I then disconnect the lock from the app? Can I then set a new master code and manually add passcodes to the lock?

4. Is there a link of full instructions to use the lock without using the Next or Home app so I understand what I can and cannot do?

Thanks!

Anna

Hi - sorry for the delay!

I've installed my lock, and it's working great. But I do have limited and not reliable wifi.

Therefore, I have not connected it to the app or the wifi, and I simply and manually adding and deleting access codes on the lock itself.

I do want to verify this:

If I connect the lock to the wifi and the app, and I manage codes that way, what will happen if the wifi stops working for a few minutes? Or for one hour? Will any of the codes I had put in via the app still be retained by the lock, even when the wifi is off?

Thanks!
