Hi - I have four YALE nest Locks. I want to give user A access to the front door and unit A.
I want to give user B access to the front door and unit B.
I want to give user C access to another selection of locks.
(See below for my 3 questions)
------------------------
YES, I understand I will have t set up a separate HOME for each individual lock.
And yes I have read, the following advice from MULTIPLE threads on this issue:
" The only way to do that would be to move one of the locks to a separate "home" in the Nest app. To do that:
"At the top left corner of the app home screen, tap the down arrow.
"At the top right corner, tap the + icon and tap Continue.
"Give your other home a name and then tap Next.
"Enter it's address and then tap Next when you're finished.
"Choose if you want to use your phone’s location to help with Home/Away Assist for your new home. If you have a non-migrated account, you’ll be asked if you want to invite other people to share access to your new home. If you don’t, you can always invite them later.
"Once done, select your new home and connect the lock back to the Nest app."
--------------------------------
HOWEVER - nowhere in all of these threads does it address the issue of the little white plug in thing. The literature said I would need only one "Nest Connect" so I bought one nest connect and four locks.
Question 1: Will I need four separate Nest connects for these doors, all in the same hallway? (If I want a code to access selective locks but not all locks.)
Question 2: What is up with product supply? I cannot find a NEST CONNECT in any stores locally, Home Depot, Lowe's, Best Buy.
Question 3: Why has Nest not addressed this recurring issue? I feel like I was talked into buying something that wont suit my needs, after being promised that it would suit my needs perfectly.

A Nest Connect can only exist in one home structure, it cannot serve products in a different home structure, so yes you would need 4 Nest Connect if this is what you're wanting to do. I can't comment on product supply or why this kind of use case hasn't been addressed, as I don't work for Google, just another user. What I will say is, not sure who you spoke to about the product, but it has worked this way since it's inception and definitely cannot do what you're asking with 4 separate home structures, with 4 separate Nest Connect, unfortunately. They most likely assumed you would have the same code for all 4 and so it would not matter.

Does anyone know if there is an alternate device to "nest connect" that will do the same job (mesh)? I can't buy one anywhere.

No, there is no alternative to Nest Connect, it's required for Nest × Yale lock to function.
I don't work for Google.
