Hi - the privacy mode on my lock has suddenly ceased to function. The icon does not appear in the app and the button does not glow blue. I replaced the batteries and still no go. The other 2 nest x yale locks in the house are fine, the privacy mode option shows up in the app and I can turn privacy mode on by pressing the white button. Not so for the lock on the front door. The mounting of the lock on the front door is a bit funky, when I moved into this house it had one of those hotel style locks where when you turn the deadbolt key it retracted the tongue on the handleset. The spacing of the handleset to the deadbolt is only 3" so in order to mount the nest x yale lock I had to add a 1/4" sturdy foam spacer (I cut them to the same shape) on both sides other wise the keypad and the inside mounting piece would contact the decorative ring around the handleset causing the lock pieces to stick out from the bottom. The foam spacer allowed me to mount the deadbolt locking portion and still put the decorative cover plate over the mounting plate for the handleset. At this point I can't remember when I last tried to use privacy mode but I know the button used to glow blue and tell me privacy mode was off if I hit it accidentally while opening or closing the door.
It just seems a very strange thing to suddenly stop working. Does anyone have any ideas?
