So clearly this is a widespread issue - Google please advise of what is being done to rectify the issue before you find a lot of people taking their business elsewhere...

I've reported this through Google one support. A few days later and after they looked at my account it stopped!
However the only issue is when I say " hey Google play me some music" it plays a Madonna album which is a bit of an issue.
10-28-2023 08:54 AM
How did you initiate the Google One support? And what did they do to resolve the issue?
10-28-2023 06:18 AM
Argh. I am having the same issues as all the above I can say any of the following
“hey google play XYZ” where XYZ can be a genera or artist name etc. after the first few songs it will repeat the same group of songs. I have my music played through YouTube music.
I have tried unplugging, etc.
10-28-2023 06:21 AM
Happening to me here as well. Its driving me nuts. Plays the same 5 songs over and over
10-28-2023 08:00 AM
Same! I noticed this a week ago. My work flow is interrupted by this 🥲
10-28-2023 09:28 AM
Although not a fix - I have just found that if you ask the nest to play a play list, then open the YouTube Music app on your phone, it plays normally through the list & doesn't repeat songs. A bit of respite at least even if a bit inconvenient!

I am having the same issue and even when asking to play a specific artist, the same songs will repeat. Also when I ask for specific albums it used to play, it plays a different album. For example, as for Sarah McLachlan's "Shine On" album and it plays "Sarah McLachlan" not the album - which it used to play just fine. When I ask it to play Tori Amos, it just plays her album "Unrepentent Geraldines" and it used to play a variety of her stuff. The entire database is messed up it would seem, so whatever bit of updating you guys did in the past month has seriously made this a useless service of which I pay a premium subscription for. Fix it.

This issue is still happening for me. Pretty ridiculous that we can't have Google products work properly between each other. Is the solution really going to be switching to a different music provider? Could we get some actual solid updates from Google on the progress of this issue?
10-29-2023 08:22 AM
As Google seem to be ignoring the issue, I suspect we will have to ditch Home and go to Alexa.
10-28-2023 11:26 AM
Any updates with this problem?! I’m having a Halloween party tonight & when I asked Google Nest to play Halloween music, I get, Thriller, Monster Mash, & Ghostbusters on repeat. Very frustrating!

Lately, when we ask Assistant to play a song or artist on one of our Home Minis or the Nest Hub Max, it will generate a list of songs to play, which is nice. However, it only plays the first four songs on repeat, which is not so nice. Even if we skip to a song further down the list, it will go back to playing the same first four songs from the generated list on repeat until we tell it to stop. When will this be fixed?
10-28-2023 01:22 PM
This is exactly what's happening to me, it shows other songs in the queue but it never goes beyond the first 3 songs. I'm not sure what the point of using all google products is if their support departments don't work with each other to find the solution.
10-29-2023 12:17 AM
Interestingly when you do get a qué playing through YouTube music you can't edit that qué. I've you have a supermix playing and you select a song from the mix and say play next, it won't. The only thing you can do to change is in the up next que

Add me to the list of people experiencing this same problem. I ask my Google Home speaker to play a song, and it will play 3 songs and then repeat songs 2 and 3 over and over. I am using it with a YouTube Music subscription connected to a family plan. This problem does not occur if I cast from my phone, or if I ask the speaker to play an already existing playlist.

Same. Please fix ASAP.

Same. Please fix ASAP. Also sent feed back from my hub. Replied twice. Dang. Thought this was a different thread. Ugh. Can't delete the dup?
10-29-2023 09:34 AM
I stared having the same issue 2 weeks ago. I have YouTube premium. When will this be fixed?
10-29-2023 09:37 AM
Same here! Google keeps repeating 2 songs again and again
10-29-2023 01:13 PM
At least now I know that it’s not just me unfortunately. I wish there was an update and resolution already but from what I am reading, nothing has been done. It’s so annoying and this last week has been getting worse.
10-29-2023 03:20 PM
I too am having the same issue you're experiencing. Bloody annoying!
10-29-2023 05:37 PM
Same here, so annoying my wife wants to unplug all devices
10-29-2023 06:19 PM
This is still not fixed! What is going on? Is there no fix to it? I don't see one here.
10-29-2023 11:22 PM
Surely Google\YTM have changed something and the YT Premium service, is garbage, I am also going to cancel my YT Premium Subscription, this was working well for the past 4-5 years and since a couple of moths ago this started happening and I started disliking songs that were repeated multiple times a day and you just get sick of the same songs repeated, surely the Artist producing the music is going to feel the effect of multiple people cancelling their YT Premium accounts, as noticed above, everyone have the same problem, and Google\YT cannot come up with a fix, surely google should have "Clever individuals\teams" to fix this issue, Come on Google\YT get you act together and and provide the service we are all paying for.
10-29-2023 11:25 PM
The fact that Google hasn't responded in a month surely tells us they're not interested. Too big now
10-30-2023 12:34 AM
Same problem here and has been for weeks. We have two google minis and the bigger version, and a subscription to you tube music.
I'm about to go completely insane and throw them all out the window. The kids will ask for "crazy frog" song, and then I get that bloody song every 5 minutes on a three song repeat. I'll ask for a song of mine to kick start some random music, but I get. Three. Bloody. Songs.
Over and over.
Fix it.
10-30-2023 03:29 AM
This has been happening to me for several months.
I've had an extremely frustrating (GoogleOne paid) support email conversation who don't understand how I am not using an app, despite me telling them several times now. Amongst other irrelevant things they suggested I change the volume.
I've had enough, YTM subscription payment cancelled.

Same, repeating songs for me. I think it's clear it's not the devices. All of them have the same behavior. It's also very annoying i can't access my own mixes and my tastes int the Nest hub 2nd gen...

I have this issue. Been going on for a couple of weeks now.
Reading this thread, seems like a known issue and being worked on (hopefully).
A workaround I found is that if I open the YouTube music app on your phone and connect it via the cast to control or show you what’s playing on the speaker, then click the Up Next button then it stops the repeats and continues with the Up Next list.
I suppose if you just use your app to start the music (I read of commanding the assistant) it should play the queued list.
10-30-2023 06:37 PM
That worked thank you, it just has the same playlist from the phone which could get boring as usually the home ones randomly play other music based on the music you like, but it beats the same 3 songs repeating.
11-02-2023 10:35 AM
This worked for me before, however now I'm having the issue where cast doesn't work. I've reset my router, reset all network settings on my phone, and even factory reset both of my nest speakers and re connected them to my Internet.
When I try to cast to the speaker, it "connects" the cast icon turns solid, but nothing changes and everything continues playing through my phone
10-30-2023 07:28 AM
I have this a lot more lately too.
However this issue has been ongoing on and off for over a year.
Hey Google, play some heavy metal, pretty much always gets the same playlist, fine, but it then repeats the same 3 to 4 songs.
And gets stuck in a loop.
YT music premium too.
This issue has been ongoing on and off for over a year. Easily
Cheers.
10-30-2023 10:33 AM
happening again.
10-30-2023 02:38 PM
I found a bit of a workaround/hack. If you start autoplay on your phone and cast it, after a few songs it seems to disconnect and shuffle on its own. No longer playing off your phone. It doesn’t do the repeat thing! But you have to start out casting from your phone. It’s not elegant but it has been working well enough for me to defer switching to Spotify for now.
10-30-2023 04:19 PM
Same here... controlling variable...just loops the same 3-4 songs from the queue.
10-30-2023 07:03 PM
Same here. I ask it for song 1, it plays 1-3 and then 2-3 on repeat forever
10-31-2023 07:34 PM
So nobody has an answer to fix the problem?
11-01-2023 12:46 AM
No, seems like Google has gone to ground.
